Saskatoon Recognized Among 2026 Canada’s Best Locations by Site Selection Magazine
Saskatoon has once again earned national recognition as one of Canada’s top locations for business and investment on Site Selection magazine’s 2026 Canada’s Best Locations list, making it the only city in Saskatchewan featured this year.
Published annually, Canada’s Best Locations highlights communities across the country that stand out as competitive destinations for companies looking to invest, expand, or establish operations. This recognition highlights the Saskatoon Region’s strong economic fundamentals, skilled workforce, diverse industries, and collaborative business environment.
Saskatoon’s inclusion on the 2026 list reinforces our position as a competitive destination for companies looking to invest, expand, and succeed. It reflects the strength of our economy, the opportunities across key sectors, and the collaborative approach that helps companies move opportunities forward. This recognition is also a great reminder that Saskatoon continues to compete well nationally and internationally for investment, jobs, and business growth,” said Erin Lawson, CEO of SREDA.
Home to approximately 30% of the province’s population, Saskatoon contributed nearly $26 billion to the provincial GDP in 2025, representing 32% of the provincial total. The Region also accounted for 26.4% of location choices by companies establishing operations in Saskatchewan.
During the period evaluated by Site Selection, SREDA-supported projects in Saskatoon represented $157.4 million in corporate facility investment and 123 new jobs. Recent investments highlighted by the publication include Great Western Brewing Co., Sandvik and Northern Nutrients, alongside projects involving Agrifac, Ergo Foods and JNE Welding.
