Orbis Engineering, an engineering design and field services firm based in Edmonton, has recently opened a Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon.
Orbis specializes in field engineering for power systems. The company has clients in mining, oil & gas, utilities, forestry, and the public sector.
With existing clients in Saskatchewan, the expansion made sense for Orbis. SREDA provided support and guidance to help Orbis establish its Saskatoon office at Innovation Place.
Aly Saleh, who is a member of the team heading up the Orbis Saskatoon office says, “With a focus on the mining, utility and resource sectors, we feel it is important to establish roots in the province to build on the business Orbis already has in Saskatchewan. Over the next few years, we will be looking to further expand our employee base in Saskatoon.”
Alex Fallon, President & CEO of SREDA, emphasizes the benefit to our city: “Attracting businesses like Orbis to Saskatoon helps creates local jobs and grows the economy. Orbis is a great example of the many strong Canadian companies that are looking at expanding into our province as their businesses grow.”
