SREDA is pleased to announce the creation of the Wanda Hunchak Leadership Award. The award celebrates emerging leaders who are passionate voices for the Saskatoon Region business community and who demonstrate strong volunteerism.
Named in honour of the exceptional service of outgoing SREDA Board of Directors member Wanda Hunchak, the award will be presented each year at the SREDA Forum in March. The first recipient will be recognized with the award in 2021.
Wanda Hunchak served on SREDA’s Board of Directors for more than 8 years through a time of pivotal transition for the organization, including several as Board Chair and Vice Chair. Her outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, economic development and mentoring have provided immense value to SREDA and the Saskatoon Region business community as a whole.
“If SREDA were a sports team, there would be a statue of Wanda Hunchak outside our home stadium,” said Alex Fallon, President and CEO of SREDA. “She has dedicated exceptional time and effort to coaching and serving our community. Her passion for volunteering shows the way that one person going above and beyond can make a difference. This award is just one way of saying thank you to Wanda for all that she has done for the Saskatoon Region.”
