The Saskatoon Region made international headlines after SREDA, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development, hosted 12 journalists from around the world taking part in a Global Affairs Canada (GAC) Agriculture Media Tour. The goal of this media tour was to showcase Canada as a world leader in all aspects of agriculture technology, from bioscience to manufacturing and engineering. In the Saskatoon Region, the journalists took part in facility tours and engaged in discussions with local leaders in the agriculture industry, highlighting the regions strengths, innovation and talent in the areas of agriculture and agri-food process technology.
While in Saskatoon the GAC Ag Media Group toured CNH Industrial, the Canadian Light Source, the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. and RMD Engineering Inc. They were also took part in presentations from Ag-west Bio and Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI), as well as attending the Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference & Ag Technology Showcase.
