Manager, Economic Development Programs
SREDA is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing and culturally grounded individual to assume the role of Manager, Economic Development Programs. Under the direction of the CEO, this individual will focus on expanding markets to attract new business and talent to the Saskatoon Region.
Manager, Economic Development Programs will have responsibility for the following:
- Developing tools and programs to attract national/international business and talent to the Saskatoon Region
- Supporting the CEO on national and international business and talent attraction missions
- Managing executive level relationships with target companies, consultants, developers, etc.
- Remaining current on economic conditions and other key industrial/business trends
- Conducting business research for the Saskatoon Region
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 3-5 years’ experience in economic development/business development
- Knowledge of economic development methodologies
- Awareness of Saskatoon’s labour market and industry employment needs
- An understanding of the City of Saskatoon’s Growth Plan including knowledge of key sectors
- Familiarity with Trade and FDI strategies
- An understanding of Saskatoon’s business network
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative and creativity; driven to create epiconic work
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills is critical
