2017 Bruce Richet Award Recipient

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN – The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) is pleased to announce Don Atchison has been selected as the 2017 Bruce Richet Award recipient. This award celebrates and honours individuals for their outstanding contributions and commitment to regional economic development.

During Mr. Atchison’s 13 years as the Mayor of Saskatoon, he played a key role in moving the regional agenda forward. Mr. Atchison recognized the importance of regional collaboration and was instrumental in establishing the North Saskatoon Partnership for Growth (P4G) that paved the way for a Regional Plan. This is one of the largest regional planning projects in the Province if not Canada.

In addition, Mr. Atchison was a SREDA Board Member for 13 years, where he represented the local and regional community and brought significant experience and expertise to economic development in Saskatoon and across the Region.

“We are fortunate to have had Mr. Atchison give his time, knowledge and leadership to growing a strong Saskatoon Region,” said Alex Fallon, President and CEO of SREDA. “On behalf of SREDA I am happy to present him with the 2017 Bruce Richet Award.”
