Lifestyles – Overview – Health & Safety – Facilities

Within the SREDA boundary the Saskatoon Health Region operates four hospitals, three within the City of Saskatoon and one in Rosthern.

Saskatoon City Hospital is a full service hospital with acute care facilities. Home to the SaskTel MRI Suite, and the future Breast Health Centre, CityHospital also holds the Eye Care Centre, Geriatric Assessment unit and large gynecology and rehabilitation units. Not only that, but it’s one of the few acute care hospitals in Canada to include a research facility – the Cameco MS Neuroscience Research Centre. Open daily, the building is wheelchair accessible.

Royal University Hospital – Located on the University of Saskatchewan campus, Royal University Hospital is a first-class facility whose diagnostic equipment and laboratories are linked with the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine, delivering a comprehensive health program. Within the Saskatoon Health Region, RUH serves as a leader in providing acute-care services for the province. The hospital serves as the main trauma center for the entire province, houses many maternal and child services, as well as neuro and cardiovascular surgery.

St. Paul’s Hospital is an acute care teaching facility offering a comprehensive range of services to residents of Saskatoon and Northern Saskatchewan. Inspired by the example of St. Marguerite d’Youville, St. Paul’s continues the tradition of Catholic health care by sharing in a call to reveal the goodness and love of the Creator God to all people.

Rosthern Hospital is an acute care facility with six physicians providing health care. Rosthern Union Hospital was built in 1950, with additions being added to the facility in1960 and 1970. The Hospital has 30 beds and a staff of 60 employees.
