Saskatoon is fortunate to be the site of many renowned public post-secondary institutions, among them, the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST). Here is a listing of these organizations:
The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is a 13-college university with an annual enrolment of over 19,000 students. The U of S is the only university in Canada to house six life science colleges: Agriculture, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy & Nutrition, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as a major teaching hospital on the same campus.

SIAST is Saskatchewan’s primary public institution for skills training and technical education. SIAST offers 58 diploma and certificate courses, as well as apprenticeship training, designed to meet the specific needs of industry. Enrolment exceeds 4,000 students annually.

_ Dumont Technical Institute The Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) serves the educational and technical needs of Saskatchewan‘s Métis as the adult educational upgrading and technical training arm of the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research.
_ First Nations University The mission of the First Nations University of Canada is to enhance the quality of life, and to preserve, protect and interpret the history, language, culture and artistic heritage of First Nations. It is dedicated to promoting and expanding Aboriginal knowledge in teaching, research and service.
_ Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies SIIT delivers adult academic upgrading, introductory skills and trades, and basic management training to First Nations adults throughout the province, as well as certified technical, vocational and trade programming.
