Lifestyles – Activities & Recreation – Arts & Culture

Saskatoon has a vibrant artistic and cultural community, consisting of visual and performing arts. The city is also a popular stop for many renowned national and international performers, such as Elton John, Great Big Sea and the touring productions of the Phantom of the Opera and Le Cirque du Soleil.

The city also serves up a healthy helping of museums, including the Diefenbaker Centre (about Canada’s 13th Prime Minister, John G. Diefenbaker), the Western Development Museum and the Ukrainian Museum of Canada. The Mendel Art Gallery houses a permanent collection of works of local, regional and national significance and draws more than 80,000 visitors a year.
