GDP Growth by Sector – Saskatoon Region

New construction has had a significant effect on the regional economy. The Finance, Insurance and Real Estate sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Saskatoon Region.

Higher commodity prices helped the Agriculture, Mining, Oil & Gas sector post one of its highest gains in years.

Even with an increasing Canadian dollar and rising transportation costs, the Saskatoon Region’s manufacturing sector grew in 2008, as did the Transportation and Communication sector
