Program Details

SREDA offers an exclusive, partner-only two-part executive education program to advance TRC Call to Action #92. This complimentary program provides practical tools and strategies for building respectful partnerships with Indigenous communities. Designed for professionals in Human Resources, Economic Development, DEI/ESG, Operations, and Community Engagement.

To enhance the experience and allow for deeper engagement, we strongly encourage participants to complete the following pre-education courses prior to attending:

Day One: Executive Workshop

Friday, May 23, 2025 | Dakota Dunes Resort | Whitecap Dakota First Nation
Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Join us for an interactive, in-person workshop focused on advancing TRC Call to Action #92 through practical, impactful strategies. Discover how to create meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships by exploring real-world Nation Rebuilder case studies, human resources best practices, and cross-cultural communication and protocol. Through a dynamic mix of expert-led discussions and hands-on group activities, you’ll gain tools and insights to support respectful and effective reconciliation in your workplace. Lunch and a self-guided cultural tour included.

Day Two: Land-Based Learning Tour

Friday, May 30, 2025 | Guided bus tour departing from SREDA’s Downtown Office
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Experience a unique, land-based learning journey to local First Nation communities, offering a powerful opportunity to connect with the land, people, and traditions in an authentic and respectful way. This guided tour includes meaningful conversations with Indigenous community leaders and elected representatives who will share their stories, knowledge, and perspectives on nation rebuilding, partnerships and business and community development.

Tour stops include:

  • Whitecap Dakota First Nation
  • Kahkewistahaw Urban Reserve
  • Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Urban Reserve

This program is rooted in the TRC’s Call to Action #92, which urges the corporate sector to apply the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to their operations. This includes education, equitable access, and meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities.
