About SREDA – SREDA Investors – Why Join?

As a non-profit organization, SREDA relies on the generous contributions of its Private Sector Investor (PSI) team and government funding partners to help meet its goal to grow the Saskatoon Regional economy.

SREDA’s overall goals are to assist in growing the economy by:

  • Retention, growth and expansion of local businesses in targeted sectors.
  • Attracting new investment in focus areas.
  • To ensure the Saskatoon Region is the place to live, work, invest and prosper.

In addition to helping grow the economy, our Private Sector Investors may partake in the following benefits of membership.  Please note that some of the following events are free for our Private Sector Investors and others have a nominal charge to attend.

Mayor and Council Reception

As one of  SREDA’s Private Sector Investors, you are invited to join us and the City of Saskatoon’s Mayor and Council each year at an exclusive networking reception.  Get to know Saskatoon’s municipal leaders and learn more about what the city has to offer.  And lucky you, there are also regional mayors and council that frequently join us at the reception as well, so we encourage you to build relationships across our great region!

University of Saskatchewan’s President’s Reception

Each year, the President of the University of Saskatchewan in partnership with SREDA invites our Private Sector Investors to attend an intimate reception.  Join President Peter MacKinnon and other dignitaries from the University of Saskatchewan to learn more about what’s happening at the University of Saskatchewan and build relationships with other reception attendees.

SREDA’s Annual General Meeting

As a non-profit organization, SREDA invites the general public and its Private Sector Investors each April to learn more about its operating year successes.  This meeting also provides the opportunity for those present to cast their vote for seats up for renewal on the SREDA Board of Directors, review SREDA’s Audited Financial Statements and partake in a little fun with a networking reception following the formal meeting.

Fall Economic Forum (Bigger and even better in 2011)

Each year, SREDA hosts an economic forum for its Private Sector investors and the general public to learn more about the economic state of the Saskatoon Region.  Don’t miss out on learning more about the Saskatoon Region’s gross domestic product (GDP), employment and building permit performance and forecasts to name a few.  This is one event you’ll want to “Save The Date” for.

Investor Industry Events

SREDA works with new busineses, governments, its existing Private Sector Investor team and other partners to provide informative industry events throughout the year.  These events vary in size and scope, but always aim to provide valuable information to help move the Saskatoon Region forward toward economic growth and prosperity.

Access to Economic and Business Development Data

At SREDA, we work hard to publish the most up-to-date economic and business development data to help you make informed business decisions.  Most information is available on our SREDA website; however, as a service to our Private Sector investor team, we also provide tailored data to meet our Private Sector Investor needs.

Ongoing Support from SREDA staff

As a non-profit organization funded in part by Enterprise Saskatchewan, the City of Saskatoon and its Private Sector Investors, SREDA staff have a great responsbility both to the public and to its investor base to work on initiatives to grow the economy.  We take pride in working with our Private Sector investors and provide on-site visits throughout the year and encourage our investors to contact us should they require assistance from any SREDA staff member.
